The Stanley M. Bachmurski collection contains personnel documents regarding his career in the United States (U.S.) Army Ordnance Corps as a mechanic and maintenance chief. The collection also includes his diary while chief of the Fixed Wing Maintenance Branch, U.S. Army Transportation Depot, Mannheim, Germany, and photographs of a variety of U.S. Army planes and helicopters, some intact and some after accidents.

Stanley M. Bachmurski served in the U.S. Army, primarily as an aircraft mechanic, from circa 1939 until his retirement on 18 July 1962. He was stationed at Fort Douglas, Utah; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort George G. Meade, Maryland; Korea; Sanhofen, Germany; and at the U.S. Army Transportation School at Fort Eustis, Virginia.
